About the role

English National Ballet (ENB) are looking for an Executive Assistant who will provide key support to the Executive Director and the Chief Operating Officer. You will be responsible for ensuring smooth and effective communication between the Executive Office and the other departments, whilst being a key point of contact for ENB’s Trustees and providing key support to planning and decision-making processes. If you are focused, proactive and have a proven ability to work professionally in a fast-paced environment, we would be delighted to hear from you.

Your main responsibilities as Executive Assistant will include:

  • Provide a range of executive assistance, administration and coordination services to the Executive Director (ED) and Chief Operating Officer (COO), acting as an ambassador for the Executive Office.
  • Provide administration and coordination services for the meetings of the ENB Board of Trustees and its principal sub-committees, acting as key point of contact for the Trustees and co-opted members of sub-committees.
  • Support the Executive team, and the wider senior management team (functional directors) with key administrative information and effective communications and workflows.
  • Undertake project work for the Executive Office as required, including research and analysis, be a point of contact for advocates and key stakeholders, preparation of documents and presentations, etc.
  • Line manage and develop the Artistic Administrator to ensure a high level of service and reliability is provided to the Artistic Director.
Key Selection Criteria
  • Demonstrable experience of strong performance in providing a first-rate administrative service to senior executives, working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven ability to get up to speed on priorities, workflows, lead times and dependencies for all business-critical activities.
  • Ability to work well in a pressured environment, managing a varied workload while being able to focus on priorities, and to remain calm during difficult situations.
  • Experience with business and finance processes in a professional office such as governance matters, contracts, invoices, expense claims.
  • Experience of having nurtured and sustained a strong professional relationship network across a busy company or team.
  • Some experience in line management, with the ability to create a work environment where team members can learn and do their best work.
