Job summary

MyNewTerm in Rugby is seeking an Examination Invigilator to support the administration of internal and external examinations under the direction of the Examinations Officer. You will prepare rooms, supervise candidates, and ensure the secure conduct of exams.

You will check desks, attendance, materials, and sign in/out at reception, following JCQ and school rules. Promptly report breaches and assist with the orderly dispatch of scripts.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, oversee and clear up after internal and GCSE examinations under the direction of the Examinations Officer.
• Check desks for graffiti and take appropriate action.
• Check materials are present against check list for examination.
• Complete all attendance registers and take appropriate action for non-attendance.
• Supervise entry and exit from the examination room.
• Ensure that JCQ, Exam board and school rules for conduct of examinations are adhered to.
• Report any breaches or suspected breaches in security to the Exams Officer immediately.
• Distribute and collect materials as directed by the Exams Officer.
• Start and stop the examination at the appropriate time and have due regard for any student entitled to extra time.
• Organise completed scripts/papers in register order ready for dispatch.
• Hand ordered scripts to the Examinations Officer.
• Comply with the school’s safety procedures regarding signing in and out at Reception.
• Follow all reasonable instructions given by the Examinations Officer or Headteacher.
• Work as part of a team to ensure the smooth running and secure running of all external internal examinations.
