Job summary

Hayle Academy invites invigilators, readers and scribes to join the Exams Team to support exams and internal assessments throughout the year. The role focuses on running the exam room, setup, distributing papers, seating candidates and upholding rules and confidentiality.

The position requires an enhanced DBS check, right to work in the UK, and references. Availability during five exam periods and annual training are expected.

• Supervising candidates entering the exam room and seating them to the plan
• Starting and ending exams to regulations and enforcing the rules throughout
• Taking responsibility for a group of candidates in the room
• Helping to set up the exam room
• Distributing question papers and authorised materials to candidates
• Collecting scripts and sorting them into candidate number order
• Maintaining security and confidentiality

Job description

Hayle Academy wants invigilators, readers and scribes to join its existing Exams Team for exams and internal assessments through the year. The work centres on running the exam room: setting it up, handing out papers, seating candidates and keeping order and confidentiality. It covers sessions in five exam periods a year, on days agreed in advance, plus an annual training session. Visa sponsorship is not available, and an enhanced DBS check is needed.
