Job summary

Sidney Stringer Academy in Coventry invites applications for casual Exams Invigilator roles to support the smooth running of internal and external examinations.

Under the supervision of the Examinations Officer, you will monitor exam rooms, check scripts and registers, and ensure safeguarding and welfare of students. This temporary, casual post offers development opportunities and the chance to contribute to pupils' educational experience.

Interviews will be held on 16th November 2026.

Qualifications

• Basic literacy and numeracy skills required.
• Strong focus on observing candidates and checking procedures, scripts, and registers to prevent malpractice.
• Ability to work with invigilators and staff to manage exams.
• Remain composed and act decisively in emergencies.
• Commitment to safeguarding and welfare of children and young people.
• Good organisational abilities for exam room prep.

Responsibilities

• Ensure correct running of internal and external examinations in the exam venues.
• Monitor candidates to prevent malpractice and maintain accurate registers.
• Work with fellow invigilators and staff to manage the exam process.
• Remain calm and decisive during emergencies.
• Support safeguarding and welfare of pupils.
