Job summary

Bournemouth Secondary Academy in Bournemouth is seeking a detail-oriented Lead Examinations Officer to manage GCSE, A-Level and vocational public examinations. You will oversee entries, timetabling, security, access arrangements, and results day logistics in accordance with JCQ regulations.

The role is full-time with an ASAP start, either 52-week or term-time plus key examination weeks. A dedicated exams suite and secure facilities support your work in a prime Bournemouth location.

Qualifications

• Must have strong attention to detail and high levels of accuracy
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks
• Experience leading and scheduling staff or a team of invigilators
• Solid understanding of school MIS platforms and exam-entry tools
• Knowledge of JCQ regulations and examination security procedures

Responsibilities

• Oversee candidate exam entries, tier choices, and coursework submissions across awarding bodies
• Create and publish examination timetables, rooming schedules, and seating plans
• Enforce JCQ regulations regarding examination conditions and paper security
• Recruit, train, and schedule a team of casual invigilators
• Coordinate with SEN department to implement candidate Access Arrangements
• Process and distribute exam results and generate progress summaries for SLT
