Job summary

Merton College is recruiting bank of variable hours Examination Invigilators to manage GCSE examinations on multiple dates in 2026/2027. You will coordinate venues, collect materials, and control candidate entry while safeguarding belongings and following awarding body rules.

Ideal candidates will have prior experience in examination administration, be reliable and punctual, and able to work under pressure in a busy setting with up to 400 candidates. Closing date: 8 October 2026.

Qualifications

• Experience in examination administration and venue management.
• Reliable, punctual and able to work under pressure.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Open and distribute examination materials and manage entry to venues.
• Ensure belongings and unauthorised items are stored according to regulations.
• Complete attendance registers and Examinations' Diary; monitor the examination.
• Maintain vigilance for the duration of the examination and support up to 400 candidates.
