Job summary

Sale High School is seeking reliable, patient Readers/Scribes to support students with approved examination access arrangements. You will provide 1:1 support during examinations and follow JCQ and board regulations to ensure fair, appropriate support.

You will read papers, scribe answers, and assist while maintaining examination conditions, with training provided and opportunities for professional development.

Qualifications

• Excellent literacy and numeracy skills.
• Patient, calm and able to work confidently on a 1:1 basis.
• Excellent communication and listening skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
• Professional, impartial and safeguarding-conscious during examinations.
• Experience working with children or young people (desirable).
• Available to work during main examination periods.

Responsibilities

• Reading examination papers and assessment materials accurately to students.
• Scribing students’ answers clearly and accurately at a reasonable speed.
• Reading back questions or recorded answers when requested.
• Supporting students while ensuring examination conditions are maintained.
• Following strict JCQ regulations and exam procedures.
• Maintaining confidentiality and safeguarding at all times.
• Reporting any communication difficulties or concerns to the invigilator.
• Ensuring all examination materials and paperwork are handled correctly.
• Attending required Reader/Scribe training.
