Job summary

Repton School is seeking an Exams Invigilator to support assessment sessions on-site. You will report to the Exams Officer, set up rooms to JCQ standards, and admit candidates while ensuring secure handling of papers and materials.

During exams you will supervise candidates, maintain conditions, handle emergencies, and complete attendance records. Training and occasional readers/scribes support may be required to uphold examination integrity.

Responsibilities

• Report to the Exams Officer and receive instructions
• Keep exam papers and materials secure
• Set up exam rooms according to JCQ regulations
• Admit and identify candidates, ensuring no unauthorised materials are brought in
• Distribute exam papers and materials, and instruct candidates on exam conduct
• Supervise candidates at all times and remain vigilant
• Ensure exam conditions are maintained and prevent communication between candidates
• Deal with emergencies or irregularities according to procedures
• Record and report any incidents or disruptions
• Complete attendance registers
• Collect and check exam scripts against attendance registers
• Dismiss candidates in an orderly manner
• Return all scripts and materials securely to the Exams Officer
• Clear the exam room for the next session
• Attend training and update sessions as required
• Support access arrangements (e.g., as a reader or scribe) if needed
• Undertake other exam-related tasks as directed by the Exams Officer.
