Job summary

The King Edmund School in Rochford is seeking reliable Exam Invigilators to join our Exams Team. You will help ensure examinations run fairly and calmly, supervising students and handling papers and materials with due regard to regulations.

We value punctual, professional and discreet staff who can follow detailed instructions and work across morning and afternoon sessions during the academic year. A supportive environment and development opportunities are provided.

Job description

We are looking to appoint reliable, responsible and organised Exam Invigilators to join our Exams Team and support the smooth running of internal and public examinations throughout the academic year. Exam Invigilators play an important role in ensuring that examinations are conducted fairly, consistently and in accordance with examination regulations. You will help to provide a calm, well-organised and supportive environment in which students can complete their exams.

Responsibilities for the role

• Supervising students before, during and after examinations.
• Ensuring examination regulations and procedures are followed at all times.
• Distributing and collecting examination papers and materials.
• Monitoring students throughout examinations and maintaining a calm and focused environment.
• Responding appropriately to any incidents or issues that arise during an examination.
• Completing examination-related paperwork accurately.
• Supporting the Exams Team with the organisation and smooth running of examination sessions.

The school offers an extensive support programme, including mentor/buddy system, Initial Teacher Training support for Early Career Teachers (ECTs) or for those seeking Qualified Teacher Status (QTS / QTLS), a system of twilight training sessions, as well as excellent development opportunities. The King Edmund School is a co-educational comprehensive school for students aged 11 to 19. KES, as it is better known to staff and students, is an Ofsted rated 'Good' single academy trust in Rochford, Essex, which serves a geographically and socially diverse area.
