Job summary

Nova Education Trust is seeking an Exam Invigilator on a casual basis to support a calm and fair examination environment. The role is paid at £13.28 per hour, with a closing date of Monday 26th October 2026 at 9am, and the start date as soon as possible.

You will set up exam rooms, supervise exams, assist students with questions within guidelines, and help with attendance and records. Training will be provided, and you may work during mock exams and the main exam seasons.

Responsibilities

• Set up exam rooms according to seating plans, with adjustments for access arrangements as needed.
• Oversee students during exams to maintain a calm atmosphere and ensure regulations are followed.
• Assist students with questions while clarifying instructions and responding promptly to issues.
• Gather, organise and securely store completed exams and related materials, documenting attendance and accommodations.
• Demonstrate attention to detail and professionalism to support student success in a controlled exam setting.
• Undertake training, update and review sessions as required.
• Undertake other duties requested by leadership where required.
• Be available to work during Mock Exams and the main exam season each year.

The Exam Invigilator will:

• Set up exam rooms in accordance with seating plans, ensuring any necessary adjustments for access arrangements are made, such as specialized seating, assistive technology, or additional equipment, to support students with specific needs.
• Oversee students during exams to maintain a calm and focused atmosphere, ensuring all regulations are followed and actively preventing any instances of misconduct.
• Assist students with questions but following the guidelines i.e. to clarify exam instructions when necessary, and respond to any issues or emergencies promptly, with particular attention to supporting those with access arrangements to ensure they can fully participate in the exam process.
• Gather, organise, and securely store completed exams and any related materials, accurately documenting attendance, access arrangement accommodations, and other required information to maintain the integrity and accessibility of exam records.
• Have attention to detail, professionalism, and a commitment to supporting student success in a controlled, organised exam setting.
• Undertake training, update and review sessions as required
• Undertake, where required and where able, other duties requested by leadership.
• Be available to work during Mock Exams (October/November/February/March)) and actual exam season (May-June) each year
