What is the role?

We seek a skilled Events Technician to support our Group Events Team within Corporate Communications. Reporting to the EUC Manager, you will set up, operate, and maintain technical equipment for in-person and hybrid events, with a focus on AV systems, lighting, staging, and online event technology.

The role involves troubleshooting technical issues, supporting filming requirements, and ensuring seamless event experiences across physical and virtual platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Event Setup and Breakdown: Prepare and dismantle AV equipment, lighting, sound, and staging for live and hybrid events, including online platform integration.
2. AV Support: Operate and monitor AV during events, manage live-streaming, and ensure compatibility with digital platforms like Zoom, Teams, YouTube Live.
3. Online and Hybrid Technology: Manage virtual event tools, troubleshoot streaming issues, and support virtual engagement features.
4. Lighting, Sound, and Staging: Configure and operate lighting and sound systems, ensuring consistency for in-person and online audiences.
5. Technical Troubleshooting: Resolve technical issues promptly during events to minimize disruptions.
6. Collaboration: Work with event teams to meet technical needs, ensuring synchronization between physical and virtual components.
7. Equipment Maintenance: Maintain and inventory AV equipment, perform regular checks, and ensure readiness.
8. Safety and Compliance: Follow safety standards, ensure online security, and meet industry regulations.
9. Post-Event Feedback: Gather feedback and participate in debriefings to improve future events.

What are we looking for?

• Proven experience as an Events or AV Technician for live, virtual, or hybrid events.
• Strong knowledge of AV equipment, streaming tools, and hybrid event setup.
• Problem-solving skills and effective communication abilities.
• Understanding of online security and privacy practices is a plus.
