Job description

Who are we?

Howden is a collective – a group of talented and passionate people all around the world. Together, we have pushed the boundaries of insurance. We are united by a shared passion and no-limits mindset, and our strength lies in our ability to collaborate as a powerful international team comprised of 18,000 employees spanning over 100 countries.

People join Howden for many different reasons, but they stay for the same one: our culture. It’s what sets us apart, and the reason our employees have been turning down headhunters for years. Whatever your priorities – work / life balance, career progression, sustainability, volunteering – you’ll find like-minded people driving change at Howden.

The role:

We are seeking a proactive, detail-oriented Events Executive to support the seamless planning, coordination, and execution of a wide variety of internal and external events across Howden CAP. You will play a key role in creating memorable, brand-aligned experiences that support our client engagement goals. This hands-on role blends logistics, creativity, and cross-team collaboration.

What you'll do:

  • Map out all CAP events across Pillars for the year with the Head of Client Engagement

  • Plan and execute events (venue sourcing, attendee management…)

  • Work closely with the marketing team to design invitations, track RSVPs, and create post-event materials (videos, LinkedIn posts, thank you emails, etc.).

  • Design PDF invites for smaller events.

  • Help track event performance via Compass campaigns.

  • Assist with event setup and manage last-minute changes.

  • Submit event business cases to ensure compliance with company policies and ensure the right approvals are in place.

  • Handle event-related expenses through Chrome River and Finops.

  • Maintain electronic files for all events, and make sure all documents are saved accordingly.

  • Manage the CAP events calendar and tracker.

  • Assist in organising internal events such as Town Halls and manage virtual event platforms such as ON24.

  • Source tickets for external events and coordinate conference participation.

  • Monitor the CAP Events inbox and reply to enquiries.

  • Coordinate with agencies to plan company trips and team away days.

  • Collaborate with the sponsorship team to manage all sponsorship-related requests.

  • Manage sponsorship event invitations on Sponsorworks.

  • Coordinate with internal teams (marketing, finance, operations) to ensure smooth event execution.

  • Help track event performance via Compass campaigns.

  • Lead CAP’s Community Impact efforts and encourage employees to get involved in community initiatives.

  • Work closely with the Events Analyst to share updates, track feedback, and continuously improve processes.

  • Address ad-hoc event-related queries

Who we're looking for:

  • Problem-solving abilities: Capable of quickly addressing and resolving issues that arise during event planning and execution.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (especially PowerPoint, Word, and Excel).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Impeccable organisational abilities and attention to detail.
  • A creative flair for event design and presentation.
  • A proactive, can-do attitude with the ability to multitask and work under pressure.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a customer-service mindset.
  • Comfortable working independently as well as within cross-functional teams.
What do we offer in return?

A career that you define. At Howden, we value diversity – there is no one Howden type. Instead, we’re looking for individuals who share the same values as us:

  • Our successes have all come from someone brave enough to try something new

  • We support each other in the small everyday moments and the bigger challenges

  • We are determined to make a positive difference at work and beyond

Reasonable adjustments

We're committed to providing reasonable accommodations at Howden to ensure that our positions align well with your needs. Besides the usual adjustments such as software, IT, and office setups, we can also accommodate other changes such as flexible hours* or hybrid working*.

If you're excited by this role but have some doubts about whether it’s the right fit for you, send us your application – if your profile fits the role’s criteria, we will be in touch to assist in helping to get you set up with any reasonable adjustments you may require.

*Not all positions can accommodate changes to working hours or locations. Reach out to your Recruitment Partner if you want to know more.
