Joining a brand-new home is exciting – but it is also different.
Depending on the progress of the home, you may join us during the preparation and mobilisation period or as we welcome our first residents. Your exact start date may therefore be subject to change and could be later than initially anticipated.
We’re looking for someone who is creative, adaptable and excited to help shape a home from the very beginning. Your ideas, enthusiasm and organisational skills will be invaluable as we develop an engaging programme of events and activities that reflects the interests of our residents and brings people together.
This is a fantastic opportunity to help establish Melksham Gardens within the local community, build relationships with local organisations and suppliers, and create memorable experiences for residents, their families and friends from the moment the home opens.
The Events Co-ordinator will play a pivotal role in delivering a first-class experience for our residents.
You’ll assist the Events Manager in planning, organising and delivering a varied programme of in-house events and activities. These will form an important part of our commitment to providing an enriching lifestyle, helping residents enjoy meaningful experiences, maintain their interests and make the most of every day.
Events will typically take place monthly and will reflect the calendar year, national celebrations and, most importantly, the interests and preferences of our residents.
You’ll work closely with external suppliers and colleagues across different departments to ensure each event runs smoothly and delivers an excellent experience. From coordinating arrangements and managing practical details to helping create memorable occasions, you’ll play an important part in bringing ideas to life.
There will also be opportunities to engage with the local community, build partnerships and help promote Melksham Gardens as a welcoming place to live, work and visit.
As part of a brand-new home, you’ll have the opportunity to help develop our events programme, introduce fresh ideas and establish traditions that residents can look forward to and enjoy for years to come.
You’ll have knowledge or experience of planning and delivering activities and events that enrich people’s lives, helping them enjoy new experiences, pursue their interests and live life to the full.
You’ll bring creativity, positive energy and excellent organisational skills, with an eye for detail and the ability to manage different priorities effectively. You’ll enjoy working with people, building relationships and collaborating with colleagues, suppliers and members of the local community.
Most importantly, you’ll be passionate about creating meaningful experiences for older people and understand the importance of making activities inclusive, engaging and tailored to individual needs and preferences.
You’ll be proactive, adaptable and full of ideas, with the enthusiasm to help establish a new home and develop an events programme that reflects its values and personality. You’ll take pride in delivering first‑class hospitality, promoting health and wellbeing and helping build a strong sense of community within the home and the surrounding area.
