The Catering and Events Department at Imperial College London, part of the Property Division, manages events across various venues within the South Kensington Campus and other off-site locations. The department aims to provide affordable, high-quality food and services to the Imperial College community.

The role involves assisting the Events and Catering Duty Supervisor in delivering catering operations, including preparing and serving catered events. You will help coordinate the team, ensure all catering needs are met, and take operational responsibility for customer service. Responsibilities also include clearing rooms after catering, recording customer consumption and feedback, and ensuring compliance with College policies, health, and hygiene legislation.

We are offering four full-time permanent roles primarily based at the South Kensington Campus, with the possibility of working at other Imperial locations. The role requires evening and weekend work.

If you are seeking the next step in your career and possess the skills for this demanding role, you could be the right fit. We offer a competitive salary, excellent pension scheme, and opportunities for career development.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide hospitality catering services, manage catering deliveries within specified timeframes, and keep accurate records of consumptions for reporting.
  • Brief and coordinate agency staff and team members to ensure professional service delivery.
  • Report service issues and dispose of waste appropriately.
  • Communicate courteously with organisers and guests, offering friendly customer service.
  • Identify and help implement improvements in customer service.
  • Obtain a basic Food Hygiene Certificate within two months of appointment.
  • Previous experience in a catering environment and supervising agency or staff at catering functions.
  • Maintain a responsible attitude towards health and safety.
  • Demonstrate enthusiasm and knowledge of customer care, capable of working with diverse personalities.

Benefits include a sector-leading salary, comprehensive benefits, workplace benefits from day one, family leave packages, on-site leisure facilities, cycle-to-work schemes, and interest-free travel loans. Join a diverse, inclusive, and collaborative culture committed to supporting your personal and professional growth.
