Job summary

Tate is seeking a highly organised Student Recruitment Events Administrator in Southampton to support planning and delivery of undergraduate and postgraduate recruitment events, including Open Days and campus visits.

You will recruit and train student ambassadors, coordinate venues and speakers, and manage event materials and enquiries, ensuring a smooth, positive experience for prospective students and supporters.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in an events administration or similar administrative role.
  • Experience working in a customer-facing environment.
  • Strong organisational and planning skills with ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and other business systems.
  • Ability to analyse information and produce clear reports and documentation.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality service.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support for planning and delivery of undergraduate and postgraduate recruitment events.

  • Maintain event booking systems and support process improvements.
  • Recruit, train and coordinate student ambassadors to support events.
  • Produce and update event materials, guides, programmes, promotional content and training resources.
  • Respond to enquiries from prospective students and stakeholders, delivering excellent customer experience.
  • Support event evaluation activities, reporting and data analysis for future planning.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the University and external partners.

Contract Type: Temporary until November 2026

Are you a highly organised administrator with a passion for delivering exceptional events and customer experiences?

We're looking for a Student Recruitment Events Administrator to join our Student Recruitment Marketing and Events team. In this varied and rewarding role, you'll support the planning, coordination and delivery of a wide range of student recruitment events that help prospective students discover what university life has to offer.

From large-scale Open Days and Visit Days to campus tours, teacher engagement events and bespoke recruitment activities, you'll play a key role in ensuring every event runs smoothly and creates a positive experience for prospective students and their supporters.

What You'll Be Doing

As a key member of the team, you will:

  • Provide administrative support for the planning and delivery of undergraduate and postgraduate recruitment events.
  • Coordinate venues, speaker bookings, schedules and event logistics.
  • Maintain event booking systems and support continuous improvement of processes.
  • Recruit, train and coordinate student ambassadors to support events.
  • Produce and update event materials, guides, programmes, promotional content and training resources.
  • Respond to enquiries from prospective students and stakeholders, providing an excellent customer experience.
  • Support event evaluation activities, reporting and data analysis to inform future planning.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across the University and external partners.
Essential Requirements
  • Previous experience in an events administration, events support or similar administrative role.
  • Experience working in a customer-facing environment.

Desirable Requirements
  • Experience working within a higher or further education environment.
  • Experience monitoring budgets.
  • Experience using project management tools or systems.
  • Previous experience supervising or coordinating staff.
  • Knowledge of a second language.
Additional Information

This role supports a busy annual events calendar and will require:

  • Regular evening and weekend working during peak recruitment periods.
  • Occasional travel within the UK, including overnight stays when required.
  • Flexibility around annual leave during key recruitment events.
