Job description

Events Manager - Global Events & Operations
12-Month Maternity Cover Contract
London (Hybrid Working)

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the global events function of a leading Tier One investment bank as an Events Manager on a 12-month maternity cover contract. This is a high-profile role within a globally focused team, responsible for delivering large-scale client and corporate events that support key business priorities across multiple regions.

This is not a typical events delivery position. While event execution remains a significant part of the role, the successful candidate will also play a key part in shaping event governance, improving processes, developing playbooks and toolkits, and driving consistency across a complex global events programme.

The Role

You will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of a portfolio of strategic global events, working closely with stakeholders, regional event teams, external agencies, and senior business leaders across multiple markets.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Managing the full event lifecycle from planning through to execution and post-event analysis
  • Delivering large-scale in-person, virtual and hybrid events with international audiences
  • Managing budgets, timelines, suppliers, agencies and event logistics
  • Creating exceptional client experiences and delegate journeys
  • Partnering with senior stakeholders across global and regional teams
  • Producing post-event reporting, insights and recommendations
  • Maintaining governance documentation including risk registers, action trackers and decision logs
  • Contributing to the development of event frameworks, playbooks and operational toolkits
  • Driving continuous improvement across processes, reporting and event best practices
  • Collaborating with event counterparts globally to ensure consistency and excellence across the events programme
About You

We're looking for an experienced events professional who is comfortable operating in a fast-paced, highly visible global environment.

You'll ideally bring:
  • Significant experience delivering complex global events with multiple stakeholders and moving parts
  • Experience within banking, financial services or another highly regulated corporate environment
  • Strong budget management and commercial awareness
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence at senior levels
  • Experience developing or improving event processes, governance frameworks and operational playbooks
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • A proactive, hands-on approach with the confidence to work autonomously
  • Experience working with international teams across different regions and time zones
