Job summary

Eton College is seeking casual waiting staff to join our Front of House team for events, dinners, and social functions. You will set up, serve, and clear away while ensuring high standards of service and guest safety. Flexibility for short-notice events and varied hours is required.

Responsibilities include assisting with event setup, food and drink service, and maintaining cleanliness and hygiene throughout the event. Prior experience in restaurants or hotels is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Experience in restaurant/dining/hotel work can be advantageous.
• Strong customer service mindset and friendly demeanor.
• Team player with good interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and multitask during events.
• Flexibility to work variable hours and short-notice shifts.
• Excellent hygiene and food-safety awareness.

Responsibilities

• Assist with event setup for functions and dinner parties.
• Lay tables, check cleanliness of crockery and glassware, arrange furniture.
• Support chefs with basic food preparation under guidance.
• Prepare drinks for guests as needed.
• Greet guests, introduce menus, and answer questions about food.
• Serve food and drinks promptly and replenish as necessary.
• Clear away used items and tidy up during and after events.
• Assist with event clean-down and liaise with kitchen team as required.
• Ensure adherence to food hygiene and allergen policies.
• Attend required training and safeguarding procedures.
