Job summary

A global events and experiences company is seeking an Event Accountant to act as the key finance contact for events like the Giorgio Armani Tennis Classic. The candidate must have strong accounting qualifications (ACA/CIMA/ACCA or equivalent) and relevant experience. Responsibilities include managing event finances, ensuring accurate budgeting, and working closely with the finance director. What You'll Do

The Event Accountant will be the key finance contact on the Giorgio Armani Tennis Classic, Mubadala Abu Dhabi Open, and also do some work on the Madrid Open and other events. The candidate must have a proactive and adaptive approach to work as well as a willingness and interest in understanding the nature of the business and the many factors affecting it.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
  • Assume position as key finance contact on the following events: Giorgio Armani Tennis Classic, and Mubadala Abu Dhabi Open
  • The role will support the VP, Finance Director
  • Business Partner with the Event Directors and Ops team to support on event finances
  • Work with the VP and/or senior director of each event to ensure they have clear and concise information for decision making
  • Be onsite representing finance
  • Ensure all revenue planning and ops budgets are up to date and reconcilable – working with the business teams to do so, allowing for accurate pre and post-show flashes and timely close out of event finances
  • Ensure applicable taxes are accounted for appropriately by checking treatment with internal tax team
  • Own the bottom‑up detailed business planning and cash flow planning
  • Own scenario analysis
  • Risks and Opps are flagged as necessary
  • Where applicable, insurance claims are calculated, supported, and submitted in a suitable timeframe
  • Ensure the VP, Finance Director is fully informed of all necessary items
  • Work with VP, Finance Director to:
    • Ensure the month‑end P&L and BS reflects the reality of the current view
    • Provide commentary to any variance to plan
    • Ensure weekly cash flow requests are accurate and complete
    • Weekly and ad‑hoc sales reports are accurate and complete
    • Quarterly commission statements issued to the Sales Team are accurate and complete
  • Unusual Challenges or Circumstances e.g. shift(s) / unsocial hours / travel etc
  • Will be required to work occasionally outside of standard working hours or at weekends at events
Qualifications
  • Qualified ACA / CIMA / ACCA or equivalent
