Job summary

Compass Group UK is seeking an Evening Head Chef to lead the kitchen on the 6:00pm–2:00am shift, Sunday to Thursday, ensuring consistently high-quality food and service.

You will motivate and supervise the kitchen team, manage prep through close, control stock and costs, and uphold food safety, hygiene and health & safety standards.

This role requires a strong chef with leadership experience, able to work evenings and late shifts, and to develop others while maintaining company standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead and motivate the kitchen team during the evening service.

• Maintain excellent standards of food safety, hygiene and health & safety.
• Manage stock, ordering, wastage and kitchen costs effectively.
• Support and develop your team, helping them to grow their skills and confidence.
• Work closely with the wider team to deliver an excellent customer experience.
• Ensure all kitchen processes and company standards are followed.
• Complete relevant checks and ensure the kitchen is left clean, safe and ready for the next service.

£37,505 per annum | 37.5 hours per week | Sunday – Thursday | 6:00pm – 2:00am

What we’re looking for

You’ll be an experienced Head Chef, Sous Chef or senior Chef who is confident leading a kitchen team and working independently.

• Has strong culinary skills and a genuine passion for food.
• Has previous experience leading or supervising a kitchen team.
• Is organised, reliable and able to work calmly under pressure.
• Has a good understanding of food safety, allergens and H&S.
• Takes pride in maintaining high standards.
• Is comfortable working evening and late-night shifts.
• Has a positive approach to teamwork and developing others.
