Job summary

Compass Group UK&I is recruiting an ambitious Head Chef to lead a busy kitchen at Lodestone House in Chester. You will be responsible for delivering exceptional food experiences, maintaining high standards, and driving continuous improvement across menus and service.

You will manage stock, control costs, oversee hygiene and safety, and develop your team through Training and MyLearning. City & Guilds 706/1 & 2 or NVQ is preferred, and you should be a confident communicator with a passion for food.

Qualifications

• Holder of City & Guilds 706/1 & 2 or NVQ equivalent.
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
• Proven experience as Head Chef in a similar setting.
• Strong time management and reliability, with a safety-first mindset.

Responsibilities

• Prepare delicious, high-quality food that delights clients and customers.
• Identify opportunities to improve food service and kitchen operations.
• Create a positive kitchen environment where the team feels welcomed and supported.

We're currently recruiting an ambitious Head Chef to help us create exceptional food experiences for Chartwells on a full time basis, contracted to 40 hours per week.

Your Key Responsibilities Will Include

• Preparing delicious, high-quality food that delights our clients and customers
• Identifying opportunities to improve our food service
• Creating a positive kitchen environment where your team feel welcomed and supported
• Delivering our tasty food concepts to our customers
• Representing Compass Group UK&I and maintaining a positive brand image
• Ordering food, looking after stock control and controlling food waste
