Job summary

Nelson Trust in Stroud is seeking a Late Support Worker to provide evening support to residents in residential treatment. You will help create a calm, safe environment from 4pm to 10pm and support recovery outside core daytime hours.

The role requires a full driving licence, lone-working confidence, strong communication and boundaries, and an empathetic, non-judgemental approach. Training including medication administration may be provided.

Qualifications

• Experience of residential treatment, safeguarding, substance misuse, trauma or supporting vulnerable adults.
• Ability to work independently with strong personal boundaries.
• Commitment to ongoing training and development.

Responsibilities

• Provide evening support to residents to maintain safety and stability.
• Support residents to follow treatment plans and stay connected to their recovery.
• Welcome new arrivals and assist with settling into the house.
• Carry out tasks such as room checks, medication administration and health & safety checks.
• Respond calmly to challenging situations and provide de-escalation when needed.
• Keep accurate records and handover information for continuity of care.
