Job summary

Adversa Recruitment Limited is recruiting a Street Cleansing Operative for a busy environmental services team based in Thurrock. You will drive street cleansing vehicles (up to 3.5 tonnes) and carry out manual and mechanical cleaning across public spaces.

The role requires a Full UK driving licence and the ability to work 2pm-10pm, 37 hours per week. Previous outdoor cleansing or waste collection experience is advantageous; health and safety procedures must be followed.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence (Category B) - essential
• Confident driving vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes
• Experience in street cleansing, waste collection or outdoor operational role advantageous
• Physically fit and able to work outdoors in varying weather
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Good understanding of health and safety procedures
• Reliable, punctual and able to work 2pm-10pm shift

Responsibilities

• Drive and operate street cleansing vehicles, including 3.5-tonne vehicles and small sweepers
• Carry out litter picking, street sweeping and general cleansing duties
• Remove fly-tipping, graffiti, weeds and waste from public spaces
• Operate street cleansing equipment such as blowers and strimmers
• Complete daily vehicle checks and report faults
• Work to scheduled cleansing routes and maintain logs
