Job summary

Leicestershire Youth & Justice Service, part of Leicestershire County Council, advertises a six-hour-per-week street-based youth work role. The post is based at County Hall, Glenfield, and aims to support children aged 11+ in communities across Leicestershire.

Working evenings (6pm onwards) with occasional weekends, the role requires driving and a DBS check. This is a permanent position with a pro rata salary for part-time work.

Qualifications

  • Level 2 or equivalent qualifications in maths & English.
  • Experience of working with children aged 11-19.
  • Experience delivering creative interventions through informal education with children aged 11+.
  • Knowledge of anti-social behaviour and safeguarding.
  • Experience working in a team & developing positive relationships.
  • Experience of voice and participation work with children and communities.
  • Be dependable, punctual and proactive in youth work delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Join a small team delivering six hours per week across two sessions.
  • Work after 6pm with occasional weekend work in community spaces.
  • Support children and keep them safe in line with the service's aims.
