Job summary

Pertemps Bond is supporting Royal Mail at the Atherstone Parcel Sorting Centre for a temporary Parcel Sorter role on the evening shift (2pm–10pm). You will be part of a busy team handling parcels, unloading, sorting and loading mail while meeting deadlines.

The role involves standing for long periods, pushing up to 25kg and lifting up to 11kg, with 2 hours of paid travel time per shift and a shift rate of £15.14 per hour. Flexibility for additional shifts is required.

Qualifications

• This is a temporary, hands-on role within a busy parcel operation.
• Must be able to push trolleys weighing up to 25kg and lift mail bags up to 11kg.
• Must be comfortable standing and walking for extended periods in a fast-paced warehouse.
• Able to work at least 5 shifts per week (Mon-Sun).
• Evening shift from 2pm to 10pm is available at £15.14 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Unload mail and parcels from vehicles and move them through the sorting centre.
• Sort letters, parcels and other postal items.
• Load and move mail bags and parcels while maintaining safety.
• Work to tight deadlines in a busy environment.

Pertemps is supporting Royal Mail with warehouse recruitment at Atherstone Parcel Sorting Centre.

This is a temporary, hands‑on role within a busy parcel operation, with additional shifts potentially available during busier periods.

Job Role:

As a Parcel Sorter, you will work as part of a busy team handling parcels and mail within the sorting centre.

Key Responsibilities:

• Unloading mail and parcels from vehicles.
• Moving parcels and mail through the sorting centre.
• Sorting letters, parcels and other postal items.
• Loading and moving mail bags and parcels.
• Ensuring items are handled safely and efficiently.
• Working to tight deadlines in a busy environment.
• Moving between different tasks as required during your shift.
• Working effectively as part of a team.
• Maintaining a safe and tidy working environment.

The role is physically demanding and involves being on your feet for most of the shift.

You must be comfortable with:

• Pushing trolleys weighing up to 25kg.
• Lifting and moving mail bags weighing up to 11kg.
• Standing and walking for extended periods.
• Working in a fast‑paced warehouse/sorting environment.
• Repeated lifting, moving and sorting of parcels and mail.

Working Hours:

You will be required to work at least 5 shifts/ week (Monday to Sunday)

• Morning Shift – 2pm to 10pm - £15.14ph

Paid Travel Time:

You will receive 2 hours of paid travel time per shift, paid at your shift pay rate.

Important Information:

• You can commit to the assignment from the expected start date until the end of the assignment.
• You are flexible to work across the required shift patterns.
• You can work weekends when required.
• You are comfortable working additional shifts where required.
• You are physically able to undertake the duties described above.
• You can travel by the provided coach from Leicester City Centre to the Atherstone Parcel Sorting Centre.
