Job summary

Holden Lane Academy is seeking a dynamic Facilities Assistant to join our dedicated team. The role focuses on locking and securing the premises, ensuring safety, and supporting basic maintenance in the after-school hours.

You will work 5:15pm–6:15pm, Monday to Friday, for 5 hours per week. Essential English communication and a relevant NVQ level or equivalent are required, with driving licence and minibus test desirable.

Qualifications

• It is essential that the post holder has a good level of general education and an NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in a trade industry, or relevant experience.
• It is desirable that the post holder holds a full clean driving licence (D1) and has taken the minibus driver test (or is prepared to take).
• It is essential that the post holder understands security, health and safety issues, and cleaning matters.
• It is desirable that the post holder has experience in an education environment.

Responsibilities

• Main duties include locking and securing the premises as scheduled and ensuring the building is safe at all times.
• Closing windows and maintaining site safety; monitoring heating and lighting systems as needed.
• Working hours are 5:15pm to 6:15pm, Monday to Friday, 5 hours per week.
• Support in preparing the learning environment and assisting with basic maintenance tasks.
