Job summary

Thames Park Secondary School in Grays is seeking an enthusiastic Evening Assistant Caretaker to join our site team. The role focuses on lettings, security, cleaning, and general maintenance after the school day.

You will work 25 hours a week during term time plus inset days, Monday to Friday evenings and Saturday mornings, reporting to the Site Manager. A proactive, team‑oriented approach and basic DIY skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Enthusiasm for maintaining a school environment to a high standard.
• Ability to use initiative, prioritise and work within a team.
• Good DIY skills.
• Physical fitness for heavy lifting and moving tasks.
• Willingness to participate in training and development.

Responsibilities

• Support after-school lettings, act as point of contact for hirers and resolve issues.
• Lock the school site at the end of the day and perform caretaking duties.
• Carry out cleaning, maintenance and security tasks as directed by the Site Manager.
• Work as part of the site team to maintain safety and welfare of the premises.
