Job summary

University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust is seeking a Domestic Assistant for the Glenfield Hospital (GGH) to support the Estates & Facilities Domestic Team. You will perform cleaning tasks in designated areas, adhere to infection control policies and work within a busy hospital environment.

The role requires good English, the ability to work as part of a team or on your own initiative, and a flexible approach to meet service needs.

Qualifications

• Ability to carry out cleaning tasks in designated areas following Trust policies and procedures.
• NVQ Level 2 in Cleaning and Support Services or equivalent recommended.
• Solid written and spoken English required.

Responsibilities

• Carry out cleaning tasks within prescribed schedules for designated areas.
• Adhere to Infection Control and COSHH policies.
• Ensure cleaning equipment is cleaned, stored and used safely.
• Follow Trust colour coding to prevent cross infection.
• Dispose of waste in line with regulations and Trust policies.
• Report equipment faults or incidents to the Domestic Team Leader.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness in wards and regenerator areas.
• Carry out other duties as reasonably required.
