Job summary

The Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Domestic Supervisor for Freeman Hospital, overseeing a team of Domestic Assistants to maintain high cleaning standards across ward areas and clinics.

You will lead by example, conduct appraisals and staff training, and ensure safe, compliant performance. Flexible working discussions encouraged; role requires working on bank holidays and a 37.5 hour week.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising a team in a hospitality/cleaning service is desirable.
• Experience with audits of cleaning standards is advantageous.
• Experience conducting appraisals and staff training is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the supervision of a team of Domestic Assistants to maintain high cleaning standards across Freeman Hospital and external clinics.
• Conduct appraisals, return-to-work interviews, and training of new staff.
• Ensure duties are carried out safely and in line with work specifications and procedures.
