Job summary

John Lewis Partnership's Waitrose store in Exeter is hiring a Supermarket Assistant to deliver partner-led service and showcase food passion on every visit. You will play a key part in keeping shelves stocked, fulfilling online orders, and supporting the wider team during busy periods.

Hours are 21.75 per week, primarily Wednesday, Friday and Saturday evenings from 15:45 to 23:45. We value flexibility, teamwork and a friendly approach to customers.

Qualifications

• Communication skills to enable you to work effectively as part of a team and with our customers.
• Desirable: Experience of working in a customer facing role is welcomed.
• Desirable: Up to date knowledge and strong interest in food and drink trends.
• Desirable: Flexible approach to ensure the support of the whole branch.

Responsibilities

• Stock replenishment - ensuring shelves are full and products are in the right place for customers.
• Fulfilling online customer orders ready for our drivers to deliver to customers’ doors.
• Reducing wastage by following product due diligence and markdowns to those reaching sell by dates.
• Working with the wider shop team to support when needed including checkout support and Click & Collect.
• Maintain a safe and tidy working environment with general shopkeeping tasks.
