Job summary

The City of Edinburgh Council is seeking a Cleaning Operative for Fort Early Years to provide cleaning services across our estate and ensure spaces are safe and clean for work or learning. The role is part-time, 10 hours per week, with Monday to Friday shifts from 6pm to 8pm.

We offer secure permanent positions with above-market terms, a strong pension, and flexible hours to suit personal commitments. Training and development are prioritised, with opportunities to progress to supervisory level

Qualifications

• Job involves cleaning duties across multiple buildings
• Ability to follow cleaning schedules and safety procedures
• Reliable and flexible for shift patterns

Responsibilities

• Empty litter and recycling bins and maintain cleanliness of surfaces
• Clean sanitation areas, toilets and washrooms and replenish supplies
• Carry out emergency and reactive cleaning as required
• Maintain equipment cleanliness and operate safely
• Support cleaning tasks across buildings as needed
