Job summary

Glasgow Kelvin College is seeking a Campus Assistant/Driver to support the safety, security and operations of our campuses. The role includes opening/closing buildings, responding to incidents, and driving minibuses for student trips and events.

The role blends evening campus support with daytime driving duties, totaling 12 hours per week. A valid driving licence is essential, with training in safeguarding and health & safety provided. Hybrid working is available.

Qualifications

• Driving licence required.
• Knowledge of building security and safety procedures.
• Understanding of safeguarding responsibilities when working with students.
• Awareness of health and safety requirements and incident reporting.
• Knowledge of emergency procedures and incident reporting processes.
• Understanding of vehicle safety checks and reporting defects.

Responsibilities

• Provide visible, professional presence during evening campus activities.
• Open, secure and monitor campus facilities.
• Respond to alarms, incidents and requests for assistance.
• Welcome and assist staff, students, visitors and partners.
• Drive college minibuses and vehicles to support visits and events.
• Assist with practical campus operations, events and room set-ups.
