Job summary

The South West Heritage Trust is seeking an experienced evaluation consultant to develop an Evaluation Plan for its National Lottery Heritage Fund project. The consultant will also undertake an evaluation of the project development phase.

The contract will have an initial budget of up to £7,500 for development, with potential extension for the delivery phase budgeted at up to £20,000. Immediate availability is required.

Qualifications

• Relevant experience in evaluation planning for heritage projects.
• Ability to develop comprehensive evaluation plans.
• Strong understanding of grant application processes.

Responsibilities

• Develop an Evaluation Plan to support the NLHF grant application.
• Conduct evaluation during the project development phase.
• Offer consultancy for the delivery phase of the project.

Job description

Overview

The South West Heritage Trust wishes to appoint an experienced evaluation consultant to develop an Evaluation Plan to support its National Lottery Heritage Fund (NLHF) Second Round grant application for a nationally important heritage landscape project and to undertake an evaluation of the project development phase. Submission of the NLHF delivery grant application is targeted for November 2026.

Subject to satisfactory performance and the successful award of the NLHF delivery grant, the appointment will be extended to provide evaluation consultancy services for the delivery phase of the project.

Terms and Timescale

• Contract type: Freelance assignment
• Budget/Fee: Development Phase: up to £7,500 exclusive of VAT
• Delivery Phase: up to £20,000 exclusive of VAT
• Location: Somerset
