Job summary

Castleton Commodities International in London is seeking a European Power & Gas Scheduler to support daily energy scheduling across power and gas markets. The role emphasizes nomination accuracy, deadline discipline, and close collaboration with trading desks.

Responsibilities include balancing and nominating activities, interfacing with TSOs and counterparties, and developing ad hoc reports. The successful candidate will have a numerate degree and experience with scheduling tools, SQL, Python,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, physics, maths, economics or similar.
• Experience with power scheduling is preferred, but not required.
• Understanding of European power markets and day-ahead scheduling is preferred.
• Strong communication with trading desks, operations and market operators.
• Willingness to work occasional weekends on a rotational basis.

Responsibilities

• Balance and nominate across European power markets with timely accuracy.
• Coordinate with trading to reconcile positions and align nominations to trades.
• Interact with TSOs, counterparties, and market operators to resolve nominations.
• Assist in setting up markets, products, or scheduling systems for Europe.
• Nominate against interconnector rights and track capacity results.
• Reconcile trading activities and support imbalance and settlements.
• Develop ad hoc operational reports and improve desk processes.
• Lead or support change projects for new markets.
• Provide scheduling support for European gas positions including nominations and confirmations.
