The role

The European Finance Director (FD) will lead finance functions supporting Axicom Europe's growth, overseeing finance, accounting, and controls. Reporting to the global CFO and working closely with European Managing Directors, the FD will develop financial strategies to maximize commercial success, ensure compliance with standards, and support business transformation.

The FD will also focus on client profitability, staffing efficiency, and strategic financial insights, fostering a culture of change and growth.

Responsibilities include:

1. Leading financial planning, analysis, forecasting, and budgeting.
2. Engaging with leadership on profitability and staffing strategies.
3. Providing strategic advice on business decisions.
4. Supporting compensation planning and salary reviews.
5. Developing tools for financial insights and operational recommendations.
6. Overseeing accounting tasks, payroll, taxes, and compliance.
7. Reporting to Group HQ and ensuring adherence to accounting policies and standards.
8. Collaborating with leadership and finance teams across regions.
9. Managing and mentoring finance staff.

Qualifications & Experience

• 6-8 years of broad finance experience, with leadership in fast-paced environments.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance or ACCA/CIMA qualification.
• Knowledge of German, Italian, French, Spanish, and Dutch accounting principles.
• Experience in consumer or professional services within complex holding company structures.
• Strong leadership, analytical, and organizational skills.
• Client-focused, strategic, and capable of working under pressure.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
