PPM Recruitment is working with a leading roofing and cladding specialist subcontractor seeking an Estimator to join their growing team in Gloucester. Working with major Tier 1 contractors, the business delivers a range of roofing, cladding and building envelope solutions.

Qualifications

• Experience in estimating within roofing, cladding or construction.

• Strong numerical, analytical and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Review drawings, specifications and tender docs.
• Prepare accurate cost estimates for roofing and cladding.
• Obtain and assess supplier and subcontractor quotations.
• Calculate material, labour, plant costs.
• Liaise with clients, suppliers and project teams.
• Identify commercial risks and value engineering opportunities.
• Carry out site visits when required.
• Support commercial team with estimating queries.

Key Responsibilities

• Review drawings, specifications and tender documentation.
• Prepare accurate cost estimates for roofing and cladding projects.
• Obtain and assess supplier and subcontractor quotations.
• Calculate material, labour, plant and associated costs.
• Liaise with clients, suppliers and internal project teams.
• Identify commercial risks and value engineering opportunities.
• Carry out site visits where required.
• Support the commercial team with estimating and contractual queries.

Requirements

• Previous estimating experience within roofing, cladding or construction.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Good understanding of construction costs, materials and methods.
• Strong numerical, analytical and organisational skills.
• Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
• Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office.
• A construction-related qualification would be advantageous but is not essential for candidates with relevant experience.
