Job summary

MP Exec Ltd is seeking an experienced Estimator to join its Commercial team. You will work on pre and post-contract estimating for residential and mixed-use developments, collaborating with Commercial, Land and Design teams to deliver accurate cost guidance.

This role is home-based with occasional travel to the North East region (about weekly). A 70,000 basic salary is on offer, along with career development within a growing business.

Qualifications

• Experience in estimating with commercial procedures and practices.
• Knowledge of standard measurement methods and QS practices.
• Familiar with NEC and JCT contracts.
• Strong analytical and organisational skills.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Prepare preliminary estimates, cost plans and feasibility studies with Commercial, Land and Design teams.
• Support Quantity Surveyors during tendering.
• Ensure tender documents comply with procurement policies.
• Maintain and update house-type cost libraries.
• Analyse design options using current subcontractor and supplier pricing.
• Develop and maintain subcontractor frameworks.
• Quantify plot packs and material requirements with buying team.
• Organise procurement of statutory services and utilities.
• Plan and schedule new workstreams and respond to enquiries cost-effectively.
• Contribute to management information systems and processes.
• Assist training of colleagues on systems and processes.
• Prioritise workloads to meet deadlines with accuracy.
• Build relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to deliver best-value outcomes.
