Job summary

Lancer Scott, based in Bristol, seeks an experienced Estimator to deliver accurate pre-construction cost estimates for refurbishment and fit-out projects across multiple sectors. You will work with the preconstruction team to inform clients and secure commercial outcomes in a fast-growing environment.

Responsibilities include analyzing drawings and specs, collaborating with architects and contractors, and maintaining up-to-date cost databases.

Qualifications

• Proven experience estimating projects up to £3m in value.
• Strong knowledge of construction processes, methods, and materials.
• Understanding of estimating software such as ConQuest and proficiency in MS Office, notably Excel.
• Strong commerciality, able to influence and win competitive tenders.
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for construction projects.
• Analyse drawings, specs and documents to determine requirements.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers and subcontractors for pricing.
• Challenge estimates to achieve best commercial outcomes.
• Assess risks and opportunities in cost estimates.
• Develop and maintain supplier/subcontractor pricing relationships.
• Prepare tender submissions and support bid processes.
• Monitor cost databases to stay current with market conditions.
