Job summary

Kingdom People is recruiting an experienced Estimator to join a well‑established construction and civil engineering contractor in Leeds. You will prepare competitive tenders for major Civils and groundworks packages, analyse drawings and specifications, and liaise with suppliers to build cost databases.

The role offers progression to Senior Estimator as the business grows, with a collaborative team, modern tools, and varied regional projects.

Qualifications

Proven experience in estimating within the Building & Civil engineering or groundworks sector.
Strong understanding of construction methods and pricing.
Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong communication and negotiation skills.
Ambitious, driven mindset with desire to grow with the business.

Responsibilities

Prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for JCT & NEC civil packages on major projects.
Analyse tender documents, drawings and specs to understand scope.
Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain quotes and build cost databases.
Collaborate with project managers and engineers to reflect practical delivery methods.
Attend pre-tender and post-tender meetings as required.
Maintain and update estimating tools and systems.
