Job summary

Mitchell Maguire is seeking an Estimator for Fire Doors & Passive Fire Protection, based in Kent with hybrid working options. The role covers the South East and Midlands, with weekly site visits and a project remit up to £200k.

You will assess drawings and tender documents, prepare cost estimates, liaise with clients and suppliers, and manage bids from start to finish. Competitive salary and benefits offered.

Qualifications

• Must have estimating experience within fire stopping, fire door, fire protection or security industry.
• Excellent communication skills across all levels both written and verbal.
• Must be a hard worker ready to get stuck in.
• High levels of organisation.

Responsibilities

• Visiting projects weekly, typically across the South East (South Coast to Midlands).
• Liaise with clients, suppliers and internal teams throughout the estimating process.
• Gain understanding of project requirements through drawings, specifications, tender documents and client liaison.
• Analyse project plans and perform quantity take-offs to estimate labour, materials, equipment and subcontractor costs.
• Obtain and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates, tender submissions and proposals.
• Maintain records of estimates, bids, pricing information and project documentation.
• Manage projects up to £200k.

The role of the Estimator Passive Fire Protection will involve:

• Estimator position promoting a high quality range of various fire doors and passive fire protection products, covering commercial, local authorities, social housing and educational sectors
• Visiting projects weekly, typically across the South East (projects can be from the South Coast up to the Midlands)
• Liaise with clients, suppliers and internal teams throughout the estimating process
• Gain an understanding of project requirements through drawings, specifications, tender documents and client liaison
• Analyse project plans and perform quantity take-offs to accurately estimate labour, material, equipment and subcontractor costs
• Obtain and evaluate competitive quotations from suppliers and subcontractors
• Prepare detailed cost estimates, tender submissions and proposals in line with client requirements
• Maintain accurate records of estimates, bids, pricing information and project documentation
• Manage projects ranging in value up to £200k

The ideal applicant will be an Estimator Passive Fire Protection industry with:

• Must have Estimating experience within the fire stopping, fire door, fire protection or security industry
• Excellent communication skills across all levels both written and verbal
• Must be a hard worker thats ready to get stuck in
• High levels of organisation
• Confident individual that can deal with any problems that occur on site
• Good IT skills (Microsoft Office)
