Job summary

Energy Jobline CVL in Derbyshire is seeking an experienced Civil Engineering Estimator for a permanent role. The position offers £50,000 plus a company car.

You will be part of the commercial team, assessing opportunities, developing costs and producing competitive tender submissions across a range of civil projects.

Qualifications

Civil Engineering Estimator

We are working with an established and growing business to recruit an experienced Estimator to join their team.

This is a great opportunity for someone with a background in civil engineering who enjoys the commercial side of projects and is looking for a role with plenty of responsibility and variety.

Working as part of the wider commercial team, you'll be involved in assessing new opportunities, developing costs and putting together competitive submissions.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Reviewing new opportunities and assessing project requirements
• Producing estimates and pricing information for a range of projects
• Reviewing drawings, specifications and other relevant documentation
• Developing accurate and commercially viable tender submissions
• Liaising with colleagues and external contacts throughout the estimating process
• Supporting site visits and gathering information to assist with pricing
• Preparing cost information and supporting documentation
• Contributing to meetings and discussions around upcoming projects
• Ensuring work is completed accurately and within agreed timescales
• Developing positive working relationships with customers, suppliers and other stakeholders

About you

We're looking for someone who can bring previous estimating experience within a civil engineering or construction environment.

You'll ideally have:

• Previous experience in an Estimator or similar commercial role
• A good understanding of construction and project costs
• Experience working with tenders, pricing and estimates
• Strong numerical and analytical ability
• Excellent attention to detail
• The confidence to communicate with a variety of stakeholders
• A relevant qualification in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying or a related discipline would be beneficial
