Job summary

RG Setsquare is seeking an Estimator to join our team in Hemel Hempstead. You will prepare accurate cost estimates for refurbishment and fit-out projects, liaise with clients, supply chain partners and internal teams to support commercially sound tender decisions.

You will review drawings and specifications, manage risk, and maintain cost databases, ensuring competitive bids and successful project delivery for a growing contractor.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in construction estimating (typically up to £3m projects).
• Strong knowledge of refurbishment and fit-out projects.
• Experience with estimating software (ConQuest) and solid Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates including labour, materials and plant.
• Review drawings, specifications and documentation to ensure accuracy.
• Support tender submissions and bid strategy.
• Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing.
• Assess and manage project risks and opportunities.
• Maintain and update cost databases with current market conditions.
• Collaborate with pre-construction, commercial and project delivery teams.

The Role

As an Estimator, you will play a key role in preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for a range of refurbishment and fit-out projects. You will work closely with internal teams, clients, and supply chain partners to ensure commercially sound decisions throughout the tender process.
