Job summary

Turner & Townsend in the UK is seeking an experienced Estimator to join our Defence Estimating team. You will produce accurate and comprehensive estimates for complex defence projects, from order-of-magnitude to detailed cost models, helping our clients make informed decisions.

The role requires a qualification in Estimating, Quantity Surveying or Cost Engineering, Defence sector experience, and strong written and spoken communication with clients. UK MoD security clearance is required.

Qualifications

• Qualification in Estimating, Quantity Surveying or Cost Engineering.
• Experience of working in the Defence sector.
• Demonstrable and proven experience in: compilation, assurance and delivery of complex estimates and cost models.
• Working within an integrated Project Controls team.
• Public sector projects.
• Excellent and flexible skills in Microsoft Office Suite (MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience of working in a client-facing environment.

We are now looking for talented Estimators with proven Defence estimating experience to work with a number of our key Defence sector cliets in a wide variety of exciting projects/programmes.

Our team deliver a wide range of estimating outputs for our clients, to support their decision making, including:

• Estimate / cost model production (from Order of Magnitude through to detailed estimates)
• Estimating assurance
• Commercial data & benchmarking

As an Estimator within the Estimating team at Turner & Townsend you will be responsible for:

Preferred

• Membership of a relevant professional body with chartered status and/or educated to degree level
• Experience in early stage estimating in complex / major Defence Infrastructure programmes
• Familiarity with industry-standard estimating software packages
