Job summary

Galliford Try in Manchester is seeking an Estimator to join the team and oversee cost planning, first principles estimating and quantity take-offs from drawings for projects across the Northwest from the Manchester office. You will prepare bills of quantities, pricing documents and issue subcontract and material enquiries, while reviewing specifications and ensuring compliance.

Qualifications

• Experience in cost planning and estimating in construction projects.
• Ability to measure quantities from drawings (electronic/paper).
• Strong understanding of tenders, pricing, and subcontracting processes.

What you will be doing

An opportunity has arisen for an Estimator to join the team at Galliford Try. You will work on multiple projects across the Northwest working out of the Manchester office.

• Cost planning and analytical/first principles estimating
• Measuring and taking off quantities from drawings – electronic and paper
• Preparing bill of quantity/pricing documentation
• Preparing and sending out sub‑contract and materials enquiries
• Specification analysis & review
• Reviewing enquiry returns/checking compliance
• Compilation of pricing elements to form tender sum
• Preparing tenders for adjudication / settlement meetings
• Commercial review of opportunities and tender documents
• Commercial and financial analysis of risk & opportunity
• Development of supply chain & supplier relations to assist in optimising commercial position
