Job summary

Diamond Search Recruitment is seeking an experienced Estimator for an industrial/construction environment. You will prepare tenders, review drawings, carry out take-offs, and produce Bills of Quantities to support tender submissions.

The role requires strong cost estimation, Excel proficiency, and the ability to manage multiple tenders to tight deadlines. Full-time, permanent, £50,000–£65,000 depending on experience, in the Kings Hill area.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as an estimator in industrial/construction sector.
• Strong tendering and estimating experience.
• Excellent understanding of drawings, specifications and project requirements.
• Experience with detailed take-offs and Bills of Quantities.
• Experience obtaining and evaluating subcontractor quotations.
• Excellent MS Excel, Word and Outlook skills.
• Strong organisation and time-management skills.
• Ability to work to tight deadlines and manage multiple tenders.
• Proactive, reliable and self-motivated.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a wider team.
• Full driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Prepare tenders, budgets and cost estimates for new projects.

• Complete detailed manual and digital take-offs.
• Produce Bills of Quantities.
• Prepare and issue subcontractor enquiries.
• Obtain, analyse and compare subcontractor quotations.
• Build accurate project costs and tender submissions.
• Manage post-tender queries and negotiations through to contract signature.
• Maintaining tender deadlines and ensuring submissions are delivered on time.
• Attending site visits as required.
• Supporting the Pre-Construction Director.
• Maintaining strong relationships with subcontractors and suppliers.
• Ensuring a smooth handover of successful tenders to the construction team.

You should have:

• Strong tendering and estimating experience.

• Experience with detailed take-offs and Bills of Quantities.
• Experience obtaining and evaluating subcontractor quotations.
• Excellent Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook skills.
• Strong organisation and time-management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• The ability to work to tight deadlines and manage multiple tenders.
