Walker Construction is a multi-disciplined construction company operating throughout Southeast England. Founded in 1964, it is a family business with three core divisions: Construction, Rail & Civils.

We are seeking a Building Estimator based out of Lympne, Kent, to join our team.

The role includes:

1. Analyzing tender documentation and capturing client requirements.
2. Producing accurate BOQs for pricing, reflecting client needs, with knowledge of CESSM 3, Highways Method of Measurement, or SMM7.
3. Costing traditional and design-build contracts.
4. Preparing material and sub-contractor enquiry documents.
5. Carrying out site visits and assimilating information for tender pricing.
6. Assessing rates and prices, creating or inserting from quotes.
7. Producing competitive commercial submissions for review and approval.
8. Understanding NEC3 and JCT Contract Conditions, HSQE legislation, and construction techniques.
9. Attending pre- and post-tender meetings.
10. Knowledge of building materials and plant requirements.

Candidate requirements:

1. Minimum 3 years' experience as an estimator.
2. Experience with commercial/industrial projects.
3. Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
4. Analytical, organized, and detail-oriented.
5. Numerate with strong numerical manipulation skills.
6. Confident, resourceful, and self-motivated.
7. Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
