Job summary

Bennett and Game Recruitment LTD is recruiting for an Estimator to join a Bristol-based specialist roofing and cladding contractor. The role offers mentoring, development opportunities and the chance to work on building envelope packages nationwide.

You will prepare accurate estimates, perform take-offs, manage tenders and liaise with clients, main contractors and suppliers. A proactive, detail‑oriented approach is essential.

Qualifications

• Some estimating experience within roofing, cladding or building envelope.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications.
• Proficient in Excel and MS Office.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Based within commutable distance of Bristol.
• Proactive attitude with a clear appetite to develop in the role.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate estimates for roofing, cladding, SFS and envelope packages.
• Carry out take-offs from drawings and specifications, calculating labour, material and prelim costs.
• Manage tenders from initial enquiry through to submission within required deadlines.
• Populate and submit client pricing schedules and bills of quantities.
• Coordinate with premium system manufacturers to confirm technical specifications and pricing.
• Attend site visits and pre-tender meetings where required.
• Liaise with clients, main contractors, suppliers and subcontractors to clarify scope.
• Research current material, labour and plant costs to ensure pricing remains competitive.
• Maintain accurate records of tender submissions, queries and RFIs.
• Support handover of secured projects to the delivery team.
• Develop knowledge and skills with mentoring from the senior commercial team.
