Job summary

Resourcing Group is seeking an Estimator to join a leading civil engineering contractor in the Scunthorpe area. The ideal candidate will have a civil engineering background with experience in formwork, rebar, concrete and groundworks, and project exposure across roads, drainage and coastal works.

You will monitor tender portals, download ITTs, prepare tenders and method statements, arrange sub-contractor enquiries, liaise with Buyers, Plant and Accounts, attend tender adjudications and handovers

Qualifications

• Civil engineering background preferred.
• Experience with formwork, rebar, concrete and groundworks.
• Project experience across roads, drainage, concrete works, piling, marine projects and coastal protection is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Monitor tender portals for opportunities and download Invitations to Tender into tender folders.
• Prepare tenders, including preliminary method statements and safety plans as required.
• Attend tender site visits and coordinate subcontractor enquiries.
• Liaise with Buyers/Plant Dept/Accounts for materials, plant and labour costs; attend tender adjudications with Commercial Team.
• Submit tenders to clients/portals and prepare PQQs when required.
• Update client framework information and participate in handover meetings to the site team.

Job description

Estimator required to join leading civil engineering contractor based in the Scunthorpe area. The Estimator would ideally come from a civil engineering background with experience covering formwork, rebar, concrete and groundworks. Estimators with project experience covering projects roads, drainage, concrete works, piling, marine projects, beach recycling, beach nourishment, timber groyne works, rock groyne / revetment works, sea wall works and coastal protection projects would be an advantage for the role. Estimator duties will include but not limited to Monitoring of relevant portals for tender opportunities. Download of Invitations to Tender into tender folders. Preparation of tenders. Attend tender site visits as required. Production of preliminary tender method statements, safety plans and programmes when required. Sending out sub-contractor tender enquiries when required. Liaising with Buyers/Plant Dept/Accounts for materials/plant/labour costs. Attend tender adjudications with Commercial Team. Submission of tenders to clients and/or portals. Preparation of PQQs when required. Updating client Framework information when requested. Attend internal handover meetings to handover successful tenders from Estimator to Site Team.
