Job summary

Cumming Group is seeking an Estimator to join our civil engineering and infrastructure team in Warrington. You will analyse costs, prepare take-offs from drawings and specs, and develop competitive tender submissions.

You will price materials, plant and subcontract packages and review quotations with a focus on accuracy and value. You will work with bid teams to develop innovative construction solutions, attend site visits, and support project delivery while building strong client relationships.

Qualifications

• Experience preparing estimates in civil engineering or infrastructure.
• Experience pricing work under NEC contracts (or similar) such as Fixed Price, Target Cost, Design & Build or ECI.
• Chartered status is desirable or actively pursued.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in civil engineering or infrastructure who enjoys analysing costs, developing competitive tenders and working closely with project teams to deliver winning solutions. What you'll be doing

• Preparing quantity take-offs from drawings and specifications.
• Producing analytical cost estimates and tender submissions.
• Pricing materials, plant and subcontract packages.
• Reviewing subcontractor quotations and carrying out technical and commercial assessments.
• Using estimating software to prepare accurate and competitive bids.
• Working with bid teams to develop innovative and alternative construction solutions.
• Preparing cash flow forecasts and capital expenditure forecasts.
• Attending site visits during the tender period.
• Supporting the delivery of projects while building strong client relationships.
• Contributing to knowledge sharing, continuous improvement and professional development across the team.
• Experience preparing estimates within the civil engineering or infrastructure sector.
• Experience pricing work under NEC contracts (or other major forms of contract), including Fixed Price, Target Cost, Design & Build or ECI.
• A degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Chartered status, or actively working towards it, is desirable.
• Strong commercial awareness with excellent numerical and analytical skills.
• A good technical understanding of civil engineering construction methods.
• The ability to work to deadlines whilst maintaining a high level of accuracy.
• Confident communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders.
• A proactive attitude and a commitment to continuous improvement.
