Job summary

Entech Technical Solutions Limited is seeking an Engineering Estimator in the Woking area to prepare accurate quotations for subcontract machining work and support customers through the quotation process.

Ideal candidates will have a mechanical/manufacturing background, experience reading drawings, and knowledge of CNC processes, with a strong commercial focus and good organisation. The role is permanent with a competitive bonus and benefits package.

Qualifications

• Experience reading engineering drawings and CAD models.
• Experience in CNC machining processes and manufacturing costing.
• Commercial awareness and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Produce accurate quotations for subcontract machining work.
• Review manufacturing methods and machining routes.
• Calculate manufacturing costs and margins.
• Collaborate with Purchasing and Production to obtain costing information.
• Assess RFQs and support order processing through ERP/MRP.
• Liaise with customers on technical queries, lead times and delivery dates.
• Support conversion of quotations into customer orders.

Are you an engineer with experience of CNC machining, precision engineering or manufacturing looking to move into a commercial role? Or are you already working as an Engineering Estimator looking for your next challenge?

Our client is a well-established, highly respected precision engineering manufacturer supplying complex machined components to customers across a range of demanding industries. Due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit an Engineering Estimator to join their Machine Shop team.

The Role

Working closely with Purchasing, Production Control and Sales, you'll be responsible for producing accurate quotations for subcontract machining work and supporting customers throughout the quotation process.

• Preparing quotations from engineering drawings, CAD models and technical specifications
• Reviewing manufacturing methods and machining routes
• Calculating manufacturing costs and margins
• Working closely with Purchasing and Production to obtain accurate costing information
• Assessing Requests for Quotation (RFQs)
• Supporting order processing through the ERP system
• Liaising with customers regarding technical queries, lead times and delivery dates
• Supporting the successful conversion of quotations into customer orders

• Experience using Microsoft Office
• ERP/MRP system experience would be advantageous
