Job summary

About the Role

Our Client is seeking an experienced Estimator to join our growing team. Working within the structural steel and fabrication sector, you will be responsible for producing accurate quotations and cost estimates for a variety of projects, ensuring tenders are competitive while maintaining profitability.

Key Responsibilities

• Review drawings, specifications and tender documentation.
• Prepare accurate cost estimates and quotations for fabrication and steelwork projects.
• Calculate material, labour and subcontract costs.
• Liaise with suppliers to obtain competitive pricing.
• Work closely with the production and project management teams.
• Identify potential risks and opportunities within tenders.
• Submit quotations within required deadlines.
• Maintain accurate estimating records and cost databases.
• Assist with value engineering where appropriate.

Requirements

• Previous experience as an Estimator within structural steel, fabrication or engineering.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Good communication and organisational skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office packages.
• Experience using estimating software is advantageous.
